Safeguarding in Sports Settings
Organisations and sports clubs have a legal obligation to safeguard children, young people and adults. They must ensure that the welfare of players are paramount. Effective procedures and policies must be combined with relevant codes of conduct, regulations and law to meet this obligation.
The concept of duty of care refers to the specific requirements of law. This legally binding obligation is covered by health & safety and child protection legislation for sports clubs and organizations.
